Teaching Philosophy
I believe language learning is most effective with a balance of practical input, meaningful practice, and clear feedback. My lessons are designed to build confidence through guided conversation, targeted feedback, and real-world language use.
I specialize in tutoring adult ESL English learners, offering one-on-one, specialized instruction to professionals, academics, and university-bound students in Seattle and internationally.
I’m passionate about helping learners refine their language skills, overcome fossilized errors, and build the confidence to fully express themselves as they wish in English at work, in school, and in life.
Experience
With degrees in Economics and French from the University of Washington, and a Master of Education in TESOL from Seattle University, I bring both academic depth and practical expertise to my work in English language education.
In addition to being a Specialized English Language Tutor, I have served as an ESL instructor, TOEFL Test Administrator, IELTS Clerical Marker, and Academic Director; a position in which I led instructional teams, managed placement testing for Seattle-area universities, and supported students as they successfully matriculated to partner colleges and universities.
Consulting Services
In addition to personalized instruction, I offer Business English training programs for professionals, teams, and organizations seeking to enhance their workplace communication skills. My programs focus on practical, industry-relevant language and cover areas such as presentations, meetings, email writing, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication.
With experience teaching executives and professionals in areas such as project management, construction, finance, engineering, software development, and education, I design customized training that meets the goals of both individuals and companies.
I also provide consulting services to ESL teachers, program directors, and schools, offering support with curriculum design, teacher training, and instructional development. From launching new programs to mentoring instructors, I bring over a decade of hands-on experience in English language education, academic management, and international collaboration.
